What does PTO do?

We work to support Oak Grove families, students, and staff in a spirit of collaboration and mutual respect. We believe everyone has something important to offer to enrich the educational experience of Oak Grove students. We work to support stronger partnerships between families and staff and to serve as a communication bridge between parents, teachers, and administrators.

PTO At a Glance:

Supporting Students Through:
- Fundraising. PTO helps ensure full student participation in activities such as the winter sports program. Major fundraisers in the past have included the Harris Hill Ski Jump (Feb) and the outdoor movie night (May).
- Special events. We help organize school-wide events such as Winter Carnival and school dances. For the second year in a row, we will organize our fall book fair in partnership with Everyone’s Books.
- Organizing playground improvement efforts. Launched in spring 2017, our playground beautification efforts couldn't be possible without the amazing contributions of Oak Grove parents and staff!

Supporting Families By:
- Fostering theme-based discussions
- Gathering parent feedback on high-interest topics like after-school programming

Supporting Staff
- Organizing welcome-back-to-school goodies
- Helping to organize parent volunteers (e.g., classroom parents)
- Organizing Teacher Appreciation Week
- Compiling teacher input (e.g., though outreach surveys)
