ELL

Jessica Bashford

ELL/ML Teacher

This is my third year working with multilingual learners at Oak Grove School and my fifth year teaching overall. I love supporting the English language development needs of students from a myriad of linguistic and cultural backgrounds. One of the best parts of my role is collaborating closely with classroom teachers, academic support teachers, family members, and others to elevate the strengths of our multilingual learners in our school communities and to promote equitable access to grade-level curriculum.

I have a bachelor’s degree from Smith College and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics. I completed my teaching licensure program through the Collaborative for Educational Services. During the 2022-2023 school year, I will be serving as a teacher leader on Oak Grove’s Diversity Committee.

When not teaching, I love spending time with my husband, our two children, and our cocker spaniel puppy, Cora. I love to read, swim, explore new places, and practice new language skills on Duolingo.
