Library:  Cate Hagarty

Hello, Oak Grove! Thank you for the warm welcome! I am very excited to be joining the Oak Grove community this school year.

My name is Cate Hagarty and I am the librarian at Oak Grove for the 2020-2021 school year while Lexi is home with her new baby. I moved with my family to Brattleboro a year ago to be with my brother and his partner as they started a family.

I love biking, boats, reading, chocolate, good coffee, grilling out on my deck, cooking vegetarian meals for the people I love at home, and being outside.

I graduated from University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BA in English & Spanish in 1998 and later studied library science at Queens College. I have been working in public education since 1998. I am interested in social and emotional learning, I believe that there is a book for every reader, and I am committed to working to eradicate racism through open conversations about race with students of all ages. I believe that building a better future is up to all of us.
