Dear Parents and Families,
Welcome Back! We have had a fantastic start to our new school year. Thank you to all of the parents and families who were able to attend our first day activities. It was great to see so many familiar and new faces. Although it is not an official full week, it feels like we are back and in the swing to our school year. I hope you will make it part of your routine to be a part of the Oak Grove community. Parents are welcome to attend events, read to students, work in the classrooms, come have lunch or volunteer and participate in any way that works with their routines.
This week, all of our students and staff members had the opportunity to participate in several Positive Behavior Interventions & Support (PBIS) activities. I hope that your child came home to tell you all about it, but just in case they didn’t, our entire school community went on a tour of all of the different areas in our school, including the classroom, All School Meeting, Recess, Bathroom, Recess, Bus, & Hallway. At each location students learned exactly what behaviors were expected of them and how they can demonstrate their best selves in each situation. All of the classroom teachers have followed up with lessons and activities to help reinforce these expectations and our Guiding Principles – Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe, and Be Kind.
Thank you for a great start!
